Silly People And Their iPhones

How's this for irony: one of the biggest selling phones in the history of cellphones is JUST NOW introducing features that have been available in cell phones for years.  iPhone users are jumping for joy over the realization that their piece of plastic Jesus can now (omg...get this) send video/picture messages!  *straightface*.  A few months ago, they were also blessed with the privilege of being able to copy and paste.   I'm just confused as to how people can constantly crown a phone as the best thing since sliced bread when it takes 2+ years to be able to do even the simplest of tasks.  Who the fuck makes phones that can't do MMS anymore?  That's the equivalent of:

  • A DVD player with no pause or rewind function.
  • A car with no windshield wipers.
  • A TV with no volume controls.
Etc...etc...so forth and so on.  Shame on Apple for pulling the wool over the eyes of these gullible sheep.  You've successfully convinced people that they don't need core functions as long as the overall product is shiny and pretty looking.

Seriously, though.
It's still one of the best phones. You can do everything on it. EVERYTHING.
Think you're pregnant? There's an app for that.
Need to print a shipping label? There's an app for that.
There's an app for every effing thing, i'm no gullible sheep but in my book it's one of the best phones out there.
The only people who bitch and moan about the iPhone are Blackberry users.

lol. I think the phone and it's software are great. Which makes some of it's shortcomings FAR more disappointing. Just like you pointed out, all of these apps that are made for it, it shoulda been able to handle the more simple things right out of the gate, w/o the need for updates. Then again, I have a beef w/ Apple right now so maybe that's what is fueling this. :-)

LOL I didn't even realize the phone couldn't do it until it was announced... like you said, one would assume if they call do all these other things, then they should already have something like MMS on it... it would be the equivalent of them announcing "The iPhone... now with voicemail!"
